Helen Louise Helfand is a designer/maker based in Portland, Oregon. She uses furniture and sculpture to envision alternatives to societal epidemics of isolationism, materialism and complacency. Her work is frequently interactive and supportive to ritual and creating meaning in the home.

Helen is a 2018 graduate from the Furniture Comprehensive at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, ME.  She also has experience in leatherwork, metalwork, patternmaking, and clothing design.

Helen enjoys working with personal and professional clients to create beautiful and functional pieces for home and business.

Louise is the middle name of Helen, her mother, and both of her grandmothers. Helen channels her own creative drive from each of these fabulous women: a singer, a painter, and a seamstress.
